Organizations Should Redesign Their Strategies to Become Thought Leaders

Businesses are continuously required to rethink their strategies in order to accelerate leadership development, according to a new report from the Aberdeen (News - Alert) Group.

In fact, according to the research today’s organizations are prepared to deliver only two-thirds of the leaders their business will require in the future and should be rethinking their current strategies to be better equipped to meet future needs.

Not all organizations are in the same boat however, as leading enterprises were found to be more than twice as likely to have a process in place to identify high potential talent. Also, organizations with above average leadership readiness see stretch assignments as the most valuable tool to accelerate leadership development.

Another Aberdeen report indicates that assessments have become important for a successful talent strategy and have begun to play an important role in several critical talent decisions.

According to "Assessments 2013: Finding the Perfect Match," major companies show more inclination (36 percent) to have a strategy to create targeted individual development plans based on assessment output as compared to other enterprises.

Noting other current HR trends, Aberdeen says that employee onboarding now is considered a vital business initiative and plays a significant role in a company’s growth and performance.

Further, firms that have leveraged strategic onboarding initiatives have improved customer retention by 16 percent and revenue per full-time employees by 17 percent.

In conclusion, thinking proactively about the way to onboard talent is enabling organizations these days who are investing in traditional and technology solutions to achieve results.
