Gartner Positions SAP Among Leaders in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Performance Management

SAP (News - Alert) AG, a company that develops analytics solutions, was recently positioned as a leader in Gartner’s “Market Share Analysis: Business Intelligence, Analytics and Performance Management, 2012” report. The report says SAP had a 22.1-percent market share across business intelligence (BI), analytics and performance management in 2012.

SAP applications and services enable more than 238,000 customers to operate profitably, adapt continuously and grow sustainably. From back office to boardroom, warehouse to storefront, desktop to mobile device – SAP empowers people and organizations to work together more efficiently and use business insight more effectively to stay ahead of the competition.

"We believe to once again be named a leader in market share by Gartner (News - Alert) is validation of our strategy of providing our customers with best-of-breed BI, analytics and performance management solutions," said Adam Binnie, general manager and global vice president, Business Intelligence, SAP. "Our job at SAP is to help customers unlock the hidden value in their data. We are doing this by providing a holistic set of solutions and technologies that help organizations harness the power of big data, social, enterprise, mobile and cloud technologies to their strategic advantage."

Meanwhile, SAP AG recently donated mobile technology and professional services to Feeding America, a hunger relief organization, to help speed the flow of food across Feeding America's nationwide network of more than 200 food banks and 61,000 partner agencies. With SAP Mobile Platform, truck drivers at food distribution centers across the country can use mobile handheld devices to track their daily inventory versus demand from food pantries and shelters. Armed with this information, drivers can more quickly divvy up food proportionally among their clients and deliver balanced, healthy meals. Improved stock management and route planning frees up resources so Feeding America can direct more energy to helping people in need.
