Plastyc to Launch Mobile Banking Platform for Consumer Businesses

Plastyc, a provider of mobile, Web and tablet access to FDIC-insured no-overdraft accounts for deposits, payments and savings, will introduce a smart, mobile banking platform for consumer businesses at FinovateSpring, a demo-based conference that promotes innovative startups and established companies in the fields of banking and financial technology.

Plastyc CEO Patrice Peyret said, “Finovate showcases the biggest innovations in financial technology. We are excited to offer over 1,000 attendees a closer look at our new offering for consumer businesses who want to offer their customers a branded, smart, mobile banking option.”

Paying mobile phone bills with cash is not always easy. FDIC studies reveal that about 24 million households are under-banked, out of which 91 percent have mobile phones and smartphones.

Such large numbers open opportunities for consumer businesses such as mobile carriers to help customers use banking services to make payments, pointed out Peyret.

Peyret will be demonstrating the new banking service platform and will provide practical insights for consumer businesses that are desirous to provide smart, simple banking services to their customers. He will discuss solutions that are fully mobile and available to all users irrespective of their income, age or bankability.

The features will deliver vast capabilities that will serve the under-banked consumers. Easy and simple ways will be explained to consumer businesses so that they can leverage data to trigger communications with consumers via mobile alerts based on real-time behavior.

“The goal is to let businesses help all their customers participate fully in the digital economy. For businesses, the upside includes customers with more predictable ways to pay and better channels for direct communication to improve service and loyalty,” Peyret added.

In January, Plastyc announced that via the Green Dot Network, cardholders can cash checks and load funds to their UPside Prepaid Cards using the Rapid Reload Service available in more than 3,900 Walmart stores.
