XATA Fleet Performance Management Solution Available for Verizon Enterprise Customers

Verizon (News - Alert) Wireless and XATA Turnpike, a division of XATA Corporation, announced the availability of XATA Turnpike’s RouteTracker fleet performance management solution to Verizon Wireless enterprise customers.

This solution will allow customers to streamline subscription fees that can be added directly to their Verizon Wireless bills, said official sources.

“Enterprises across the board are looking to streamline fleet operations, both in the truck and in the office, to reduce costs and increase efficiency," said Benigno Gonzalez, vice president-sales operations for Verizon Wireless. “XATA Turnpike’s solution on the nation’s most reliable wireless network provides our enterprise customers with a robust fleet performance management tool that optimizes operations plus the benefit of a single bill."

XATA Turnpike’s RouteTracker device transmits Global Positioning System or GPS data and other important vehicle data to a wireless phone and sends the data back to a hosted Web site. This enables Verizon Wireless customers to easily access XATA Turnpike on their Verizon Wireless handsets. This ensures fleet efficiencies such as Hours of Service or HOS tracking and logging.

Company sources added that XATA Turnpike offers a flexible computing platform that allows Verizon Wireless customers to integrate fleet and driver data with other third-party applications so that data can be easily collected and analyzed for maximum fleet optimization.

Brendan Staub, senior vice president of sales, XATA Turnpike said, “In today’s economic environment, efficiency is everything.”

“Verizon Wireless customers can now take advantage of XATA Turnpike’s low-cost solution to improve fleet operations and remain HOS compliant, all without adding an additional step to their accounting processes,” Staub added.

Turnpike Global Technologies provides simple solutions to the transportation industry that helps them save a lot on time and money. The company has fully automated the fuel and mileage tax process, required by the International Fuel Tax Agreement or IFTA.

Company sources explained that its RouteTracker, a fleet management device, connects directly to the engine diagnostic port of medium and heavy duty trucks to collect and report on operational statistics, GPS position and automate compliance information. The device also interacts with various handheld devices using Bluetooth as a wireless in-cab communication medium. The information so collected by RouteTracker which is easy to install will be available to the end-user via Web-based reporting.
