Wheat Systems Acquires AssuredPackets

AssuredPackets LLC will be purchased by Wheat Systems Integration. Since 2007, Richmond based AssuredPackets has specialized in cloud and virtualization technologies. Storage, VMWare, NetApp and WAN Optimization are the core specialties of the company. These services can be now offered by Wheat Systems to public and private entities that are moving to the cloud and virtualized services. An announcement in this regard has been made by Glen Allen, Va. based Wheat Systems Integration.

The future path for most industries is cloud and virtualization technologies. Costs on local hardware, IT services and staffing are saved with these technologies. AssuredPackets’ proven experience in the virtualization and storage fields can be now combined with the strong capabilities in the networking and security arenas of Wheat Systems. The cutting edge in virtualization designs can be therefore provided by the Richmond-based integrator with all partnerships and skill sets in place.

VMware, Cisco (News - Alert), and NetApp have adopted a certified standard, FlexPod. The necessary storage, virtualization, networking and security infrastructure needed for the enterprise cloud level is delivered by FlexPod. The most up-to-date technology available will be provided by Wheat Systems to its clients as the public and private sectors move to this sort of technology.

AssuredPackets will be added by Wheat Systems to its portfolio of brands. Wheat Systems has recently also acquired Plano, Texas based Monitored Networks. Even in this down-turned economy, these two acquisitions are a sure sign to the Richmond community and beyond that there is opportunity for growth.

The purchase transactions details between Wheat Systems and AssuredPackets have not been disclosed.
