Baigent Digital LLC, a privately held company has been acquired by Convio, Inc. An announcement in this regard has been made by Convio, the top provider of on-demand constituent engagement solutions. Charities in the United Kingdom are provided digital strategy, design, technology implementation and online fundraising solutions by Baigent.

The UK market will be now delivered the proven, integrated constituent engagement solution from Convio. Capabilities for online fundraising, special events fundraising, email marketing, content management and CRM are also included. A powerful solution partner will be provided to UK charities by combining Convio's solutions with Baigent's experience. Apart from raising more money, the UK charities will be also able to conduct effective online marketing campaigns and deepen supporter relationships.

In a release, Gene Austin, president and CEO of Convio said, “We are excited about entering the UK marketplace. Our research indicates there is a significant interest in integrated, cloud-based solutions with UK charities. Baigent's capabilities and established relationships with many leading UK charities provide a springboard to gain rapid entry into the UK market.”

According to Austin, UK-based organizations will be able to build stronger relationships with supporters through the broad range of solutions and services provided by the combined companies. They will be also able to raise money more efficiently and be more successful.

Martin Campbell, managing director for Baigent said, “I believe that our team's capabilities and deep understanding of the UK charity sector, combined with Convio's integrated solutions and online fundraising expertise, will lead to great results for UK charities. Convio's solution incorporates fundraising, marketing, peer-to-peer and CRM capabilities in an integrated fashion via the cloud.” Campbell added that no other products in the UK market are offering this kind of feature set.

UK charities will be offered online fundraising, email marketing, CMS and TeamRaiser solutions by Convio. Additional product offerings, including CRM will be introduced in the future.

Convio will pay approximately $2.9 million in cash under the terms of the agreement. Based on successful achievement of performance targets, Convio may also pay $0.4 million in cash. This amount will be payable over three and a half years.
