Epicor Lands Major ERP Contracts in the UAE

Epicor Software (News - Alert) Corporation has recently entered the UAE ERP space by bagging two major contracts from two UAE-based companies.

Epicor’s offering includes an array of enterprise resource planning (ERP), retail management, supply chain management (SCM) and human capital management (HCM) software solutions. The new clients--Kibsons International and Hana International--have selected the company’s next-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, Epicor ERP. The implementations at both companies will be performed by Epicor Channel Partner (News - Alert), Knowledge Web Consultancy.

Kibsons International, a fresh fruits and vegetables importer with a processed meat factory in Ajman, will implement the warehouse management system (WMS), distribution, finance and payroll modules of Epicor ERP across two key locations. Epicor said that it had to compete with other rival companies to win the contract from Kibsons. Ultimately, the food importer zeroed on the Epicor ERP solution, which is known for its user-friendly, out-of-the-box features and compatibility with the handheld devices.

“We work in an industry where time and quality are of the essence, and we wanted a solution that would support our challenging operations. After investigating the best in the market we were drawn to Epicor ERP because of its smooth integration, compatibility with handheld applications, and its ease of use. We expect to see gains in terms of integration, customer and supplier extensions, controls and reporting as a result of our decision to go with Epicor,” finance manager for Kibsons International Husainy Sharbat noted in a statement.

Hana is a global supplier of diesel engine and agricultural tractor parts. The company reportedly was impressed by Epicor ERP’s integration capabilities and above all low cost of ownership. Hana will implement the system's distribution, customer relationship management and integrated finance modules.

“The low cost of ownership and swift return on investment offered by Epicor ERP were compelling arguments that ultimately convinced us to choose this solution. Operation-wise, Epicor will boost our reporting abilities and the integration of our resource management capabilities, two benefits that will prove crucial to the running of our international marketing and distribution centre in the Jebel Ali Free Zone,” chairman for Hana International Majid Sheikh commented in a statement.

“The selection of Epicor ERP by Kibsons International and Hana International is testament to the solution’s flexibility and multi-industry capabilities,” said Ian Walker, senior vice president of sales for Epicor in EMEA. The company that takes pride in the ease of use, scalability, high productivity and accessibility of its ERP solution, hopes to make it big in UAE. The successful implementation of the software is expected to result in new business opportunities in the country for Epicor.

In other news, Epicor Software recently revealed that in light of the growing complexity of O&G projects, companies in the UAE region are aggressively investing in ERP solutions to effectively reach into all areas of the business and value chain. The company maintained that conventional ERP solutions, however, are limited in scope mainly because they are designed for automating back-office functions, lacking critical functions that offer real-time interaction and collaboration internally and externally.

Improving on conventional ERP capabilities, there are now more advanced, fully integrated solutions such as Epicor for Energy, which delivers highly specialized features catering to specific needs of the energy sector. Epicor for Energy combines applications such as project management, service management, field service, mobile field service, maintenance management, advanced quality management, dashboards and a suite of Web services. The ideal ERP solution must understand the need of energy companies to manage complex projects and adapt to a highly dynamic market landscape.
