PTC Acquires Servigistics for Effective Service Management

PTC, a company that provides manufacturers with technology solutions, recently completed the acquisition of Servigistics Inc., the developer of an innovative suite of service lifecycle management (SLM) software solutions.

The Servigistics SLM solutions suite enables companies to profitably deliver on their service commitments to customers. The company is serving a list of Global 1000 clients to successfully execute a service-led growth strategy that delivers value across the entire global service supply chain.

Servigistics’ Oracle Fusion and SAP (News - Alert) Netweaver-certified solutions address all the key post-sale service areas, including service parts planning and pricing, field service management, service logistics, warranty management, service knowledge and content management.

“Today, PTC claims leadership in the emerging service lifecycle management market with what we believe is the deepest domain expertise, broadest customer base, and largest market share in the industry,” said PTC’s president and CEO Jim Heppelmann. “Manufacturers have a tremendous opportunity to elevate the contribution of their service organizations to their top and bottom lines. With its breadth of offerings, PTC is now the clear technology partner of choice for manufacturers seeking to capture this new competitive advantage by establishing service as a strategic enterprise function.”

Founded in 1985, PTC employs over 6,000 professionals serving more than 27,000 businesses in rapidly-evolving, globally distributed manufacturing industries worldwide. PTC’s SLM solution portfolio covers technical information, service knowledge management, service parts management, warranty and contract management, field service management, and service logistics.

The solutions for product lifecycle management (PLM), computer aided design (CAD), application lifecycle management (ALM), supply chain management (SCM) and service lifecycle management (SLM) let the companies aggregate, analyze and deploy product information to drive the strategy and dynamic decision-making processes.

The company serves sectors including industrial equipment, automotive, high tech and electronics, aerospace and defense, retail, consumer and medical devices.
