EVAC Chooses Aladtec's EMS Manager for its Employee Scheduling Needs

EMS Manager, an Internet-based workforce management solution from Aladtec has been chosen by Ellington Volunteer Ambulance Corps (EVAC) to help manage their staff. The decision was necessary because of the growth the organization was undergoing and the need that arose for efficient and effective system of employee scheduling. It was the collective opinion of the management that their current methods were faulty and long-drawn out and that there was a need for improvement.

Before changing over to EMS Manager, EVAC made use of spreadsheets for scheduling and printed them when needed. These changes were constantly sent in by various means of communication. The switch to an electronic means of scheduling makes this so much easier on the organizational front. It gave everyone the ability to have one schedule that was accessible to all and which would get updated automatically when a change was put in place.

EVAC signed on in September of 2011 and in the first three months of using the program were able to discern visible improvements across the organization.

In a release, Bruce Hoffman (News - Alert), EVAC Training Officer, said, “Switching to online employee scheduling gave us three immediate returns. For one, it helped garner interest for our members making them feel more active and involved in shifts and scheduling. Secondly, it turned our static scheduling into something dynamic and accessible anytime from anywhere. And thirdly, it provided accountability by logging which shifts a member enlisted for, traded for or requested off.”

One will find that there are more than 60 agencies all functioning within the 100 mile radius of EVAC who make use of Aladtec’s products for their employee based needs.

Hoffman said, “In selecting a product, we came up with a list of priorities of what we wanted. Of those that met our criteria, we chose EMS Manager for their exceptional technical support and system customizability. On top of being easy to get a hold of, the staff at EMS Manager helped train our administrators and were happy to help set up our system to meet our needs - not forcing us to conform to some other structure. EMS Manager is more than a scheduling resource; there are forums, libraries and a member database allowing for easy staff interaction and information.”
