Dimension Data Acquires OpSource

Provider of ICT services and solutions Dimension Data (News - Alert), a subsidiary of NTT Holdings, has acquired OpSource, an enterprise cloud company.

The company expects to accelerate its cloud computing services offerings via this latest acquisition. “We believe OpSource (News - Alert) provides us with an accelerated time-to-market as their infrastructure and services are well-established and tested,” said Brett Dawson, CEO at Dimension Data.

He said that Dimension Data is now well-positioned to provide its clients with services that help them at each step in their journey toward cloud architectures.

OpSource employs 150 staff and is headquartered in Santa Clara, California with operations in Virginia, United Kingdom, Ireland and India. More than 600 enterprises, service providers and software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)) independent software vendors (ISVs) deploy the company’s expertise, experience and cloud automation technology to operate business-critical cloud computing and hosting environments.

Dawson said that OpSource brings a rich set of services, a sound cloud architecture, and extensive experience in cloud services that will meet immediate client needs -- in addition to a cloud infrastructure which supports development and growth.

Treb Ryan (News - Alert), CEO and co-founder of OpSource, believes that as part of Dimension Data, OpSource will be better able to capitalize on the global cloud computing market opportunity.

Additionally, Dimension Data has announced the creation of a centralized Cloud Solutions Business Unit which will report directly into Dawson. OpSource will become part of this business unit, according to the company.

Earlier in April, Trident Marketing selected Dimension Data’s customer interactive solutions group to design, build and support its mission-critical customer service platform.
