Neustar, a provider of solutions and directory services that enable trusted communication across networks, applications, and enterprises around the world, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the assets and certain liabilities of the Numbering Solutions business from Evolving Systems (News - Alert), for approximately $39 million.

Upon the close of the acquisition, certain assets of the Number Solutions business of Evolving Systems will become part of Neustar's Carrier Services operating segment

Industry experts said that the acquisition of Evolving Systems' Numbering Solutions business furthers Neustar's long-term initiative to simplify operators' OSS architectures by mitigating cost and complexity, while making the evolution to next-generation networks more efficient, manageable, and flexible to meet the increasingly complex needs of end-users.

TMCnet in March reported that operators migrating their network infrastructures to support next-generation Internet Protocol (IP)-based services can now leverage Neustar’s IP Enablers solution, which will strengthen network intelligence by simplifying network addressing and management, and optimizing routing in network.

Neustar offers mobile messaging, DNS and registry services for global communications. Its IP solutions facilitate providers to quickly and efficiently implement as well as manage the routing of IP traffic between and among networks.
