New York-based financial company CAIS recently announced that it has found a new chief technology officer (CTO). Paul Giurata is stepping into the role at the company, which will make him responsible for both developing and implementing CAIS' next-generation technology platform.
CAIS provides an "independent, alternative investment platform" to the global wealth management industry. Indeed, the company's end-to-end solution features integrated reporting and streamlined execution with a Web-based interface, which makes handling financial tasks easier.
"As we continue the technological evolution of our business, both our firm and our clients will benefit from Paul's extensive experience and forward-thinking vision to lead our team," said Rafay H. Farooqui, co-founder and president of CAIS, in a statement. "Establishing a presence in Silicon Valley is a natural progression for us as we continue to expand our client base and align with strategic partners at the cutting edge of technology. We're committed to providing the best end-to-end solution by combining product access, information, execution and reporting integration on a single, unified platform."
Giurata comes to CAIS with considerable knowledge and expertise in software design and architecture with two decades of hands-on experience with a number of technology companies — In fact, he began his career with Apple (News
- Alert). Giurata's most recent role, however, was managing partner of Catalyst Resources , where he was responsible for designing and developing a number of mission-critical software applications including those pertaining to trading, investment and banking platforms.
"CAIS has established its position of technology leadership by integrating the complex workflows involved with accessing, executing and reporting on alternative investments," said Giurata. "We are uniquely positioned to further develop the tools, systems and support needed to compete in a continually evolving landscape. Additionally, with a Silicon Valley presence, CAIS has access to significant technical talent."
Recently, CAIS was named "Best Private Banking Systems Provider" in the 2012 World Finance Technology Awards for its work in North America, Western Europe and the Middle East with its end-to-end solution.
