SAP Appoints New President to Bolster Its Global Sales

The leader in enterprise software, SAP recently named Robert Courteau as president of its North America region. Courteau will report to Robert Enslin, who is going to lead the company as president of Global Sales for SAP (News - Alert). The appointments are seemingly in line with SAP’s ongoing process of restructuring of the company's Global Field Organization (GFO).

As president of SAP North America, Courteau will be responsible for all of SAP's business operations in the U.S. and Canada, reporting to Enslin.

In a release, SAP informed that prior to this appointment, Courteau served as chief operating officer (COO) for SAP's GFO. In that role, he was responsible for the overall performance of operations throughout the company's regional sales, ecosystem, services and sales support teams.

In the span of his more than 20 years long career in the technology industry, Courteau held many executive and senior management positions with a variety of multinational corporations and industry pioneers. This experience included his roles as executive vice president, EDS (News - Alert) Corporation and at Xerox Corporation, where he served as a North American divisional vice president and general manager.

Enslin assumes the role of president of Global Sales. In this role, he will be expected to bolstaer the company’s presence in different regions worldwide.

“Appointing a president of Bob Courteau's customer knowledge and broad global experience underscores our commitment to our customers in the region. We look forward to continuing our strong momentum in North America, a key market for SAP and cornerstone of our ongoing global growth,” Enslin noted in a statement.

Last week SAP announced that it will acquire security software, identity and access management software, as well as relevant assets including development and consulting resources from SECUDE.

As a result of this transaction, SAP will acquire Secure Login and Enterprise Single Sign-On, and will roll these into its product portfolio. With this acquisition SAP can provide customers secure client-server communications without the need for third-party offerings.

Despite the partial divestiture, SECUDE will continue to operate as an independent business with focus on FinallySecure, a data protection portfolio of solutions and products.
