Gartner Places Dimension Data in 'Challengers' Quadrant

Dimension Data (News - Alert), a source of IT solutions and services, claimed it has found a place in the ‘Challengers’ quadrant of the latest Gartner Magic Quadrant for Telecom Expense Management, a 2012 report.

The Gartner (News - Alert) Magic Quadrant report explains how well technology providers execute their goals. It offers visual snapshots of a market's direction, maturity and participants. A company is placed in the ‘Challengers’ quadrant if it demonstrates strength against competition, but may not have a plan that will imply value for new customers. Vendors in mature markets are positioned as challengers for choosing to minimize risk or avoid disrupting their customers or their own activities.

Dimension Data reportedly takes a proactive approach to mobile expense management, and with Xigo, its telecom expense management service, it provides ‘instant’ results.

Xigo is a cloud-based solution that simplifies enterprise telecommunications costs. Xigo’s flexible platform meets the needs of all types of businesses, from small companies with as few as five devices to large multinational organizations with fixed, mobile and global cost management needs.

“We feel recognition by Gartner in this influential report supports our commitment to the TEM market,” said Dave Spofford (News - Alert), Xigo CEO. “Xigo’s industry-leading cloud-based TEM platform and proven client service has undoubtedly led us to receive this acknowledgement. Since Dimension Data acquired Xigo in February this year, the response from clients of both companies has been extremely positive.”

The company asserted that TEM is part of its managed services, designed to meet its clients’ needs for a high degree of flexibility in the way they procure IT services.
