Avema Corp. Acquires Telecom Expense Management Business from Datex

Avema (News - Alert) Corporation has acquired Datex’s Telecom Expense Management (TEM) business. Financial details on the transaction were not immediately announced.

With the acquisition, Datex clients will be able to use Avema’s Advanced Vendor Management (AVM) cloud TEM software, the companies said. It will also give them alternatives for reporting mobile and telecom costs.

“This acquisition solidifies Avema as the most established TEM company in Canada,” Roger Yang, CEO of Avema, said in a company statement which was carried by TMCnet. “By combining the capabilities and many years of expertise of the two organizations, we have established our company as the premier telecom management provider in Canada.”

“I am pleased to see the advancement of our TEM business division through Avema’s acquisition,” Jim Dawson, CEO of Datex, added in the press release. “With a core business focus that is aligned with the services being provided to our clients, Avema is a perfect fit. It is crucial that our customers continue to receive the best TEM service, and I am confident that Avema will deliver it.”

The deal comes at a time when the number of mobile devices has jumped tremendously. There are also many more consumer devices being found in workplaces.

Avema provides varied services related to mobile spending, support, and security, the company said. These include mobile device management software. The company also provides technical advice on integrating consumer devices into the workplace.

Datex said that prior to the acquisition some of its larger clients were FedEx Canada, Travelex, Business Development Bank of Canada and Hoffman (News - Alert) – La Roche.

Avema’s customers include such companies as Suncor, RBC and Spectra Energy. Avema says it helps to reduce its customers’ costs, lessen the number of their manual administrative tasks, and increase their customers’ security.

In other recent company news, Avema Corporation acquired Breakaway Services, according to a report carried on TMCnet. Breakaway provides management of telecommunications services, assets and expenses for corporations. Breakaway will still operate out of its Denver, Colorado location, TMCnet added.
