ACRA Control Ltd Acquired by Curtiss-Wright



ACRA Control Ltd. was recently acquired by Curtiss-Wright (News - Alert) Corporation for 42 million Euros in cash. ACRA is a leading supplier for both defense and commercial aerospace markets. Curtiss-Wright’s Motion Control Segment will operate the new business.

ACRA is based out of Dublin, Ireland and includes product families like modular data acquisition, solid-state recorders, Ethernet switches/networking, wireless data transmission, telemetry ground stations and ground station analysis software. The sales and customer support center for North and South America is ACRA Control Inc and is ACRA Control Ltd’s wholly owned subsidiary located at Leonardtown, MD.

Curtiss-Wright’s data recordings and avionics solutions coupled with ACRA’s customizable modular products; engineering expertise and advanced technologies helps provide defense customers with airborne Ethernet data transmission and synchronization, enhanced data acquisition capabilities and wireless download of data to ground stations.

Curtiss-Wright’s development capability with specialized skills in data acquisition, embedded recording, networking and analysis software will be enhanced with ACRA’s highly skilled hardware and software engineering workforce. Curtiss-Wright’s system-level approach to C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) solutions will be enhanced with advanced Ethernet switch technology from ACRA.
