DDI to Provide Information Security Services to OMC

Ozarks Medical Center or OMC announced that it has sought out the information security services by Digital Defense Inc. also known as DDI—a supplier in information security governance, risk management and compliance or GRC solutions. Managed vulnerability scanning, wireless security testing, and penetration testing are also included in the services provided to OMC.

In a release, Mark Odom, information security officer at OMC said, “We were initially looking for an organization that could provide ongoing vulnerability scanning services and one that could provide a risk assessment. We need to maintain compliance with HIPAA HITECH and Electronic Health Record Initiatives, and vulnerability scanning and risk assessments are two key components of our information security compliance program.”

Odom said that the organization is pleased with the solutions provided by DDI, adding that “enormous time and cost” have been saved for OMC with the managed service aspect of the vulnerability scanning service. In addition, he said the organization is able to address its compliance objectives through this turnkey security solutions provider, and will be ensured of a strong security posture as DDI will be working with OMC on an ongoing basis.

Larry R. Hurtado, president and CEO of DDI said, “We are pleased we are able to provide effective security solutions for OMC designed to not only provide a strong, ongoing information security program, but also assist them in attaining their compliance goals. The fact that OMC takes the initiative and addresses security issues in a proactive manner is laudable.”

According to Hurtado, clients are very satisfied with the DDI approach of offering a managed version of the vulnerability scanning service. This service is run by a security analyst. This option is only offered by a very few security providers and DDI is one of them. Organizations of all sizes in any vertical will find this option efficient and cost effective.

Access to a personal security analyst is received by DDI clients using the managed option of the vulnerability scanning service. They also receive access to an Analyst on Demand. Prioritization of found vulnerabilities for remediation is also provided by DDI.
