Russian Perfume and Cosmetics Chain Selects IBM Security

Looking to better protect its IT infrastructure, Rive Gauche, a chain of perfume and cosmetics stores in Russia, has implemented Security Solutions from IBM. Rive Gauche has numerous workstations and servers throughout its 140 stores in Russia.

IBM (News - Alert) helps organizations build a strong security posture that helps reduce costs, improve service, and manage risk, through world-class solutions that address risk across the enterprise.

Allowing Rive Gauche to stay ahead of an increasingly sophisticated and diverse threat environment, the company is transforming its IT infrastructure into one that is secure by design. With the help of IBM's integrated security solution, the company can detect threats, block unidentified, illegal activities across the company's gateways, networks, servers and desktops. It can also get a transparent view of policy violations in a single, comprehensive control system with the IBM solution.

Rive Gauche is tapping IBM Security Solutions for more than just viruses and attacks -- it's building a system that is secure by design," said Steve Robinson, general manager of IBM Security Solutions. "At its core, Rive Gauche is setting a proactive security policy with IBM solutions to better safeguard its clients and corporate information,” continued Steve Robinson.

By generating urgent emails or de-emphasizing less important events, IBM software helps set security policies that can escalate important events. Rive Gauche aims to prevent security breaches, rather than having to respond after they occur with such safeguards in effect. The company cites an improvement in identifying and resolving security incident investigations since implementing the IBM system.

Recently, Panduit Corp. partnered with the IBM to bring large modular, plug and play data centers to market. According to Panduit officials, Enterprise Modular Data Centers are large modular data centers designed in smaller, standardized modules with the capability to plug in additional capacity over time as needed, such as power and cooling. This approach enables clients to bring new, highly scalable data centers online three-to-six months sooner.
