Options Now Provides Access to Quincy Services

Millions of currencies ride on the velocity of a firm’s transactions. In this scenario, latency reduction is vital to the financial industry. Usage of ultra-low latency networks for electronic trading, and other real-time applications, is no doubt spinning new trends and innovation in the telecom industry.

Options is a provider of infrastructure products to the Global Financial Services sector. The company’s key offerings include the PIPE Platform and the Private Financial Cloud offering.

In a recent announcement, the company mentioned that it would now provide access to Quincy Data LLC's Quincy Extreme Data (QED) service to its Electronic Trading Platform. The company believes that this upgrade will ensure the availability of the lowest known latency for customers leveraging Options' PIPE Velocity, one of the three service offerings delivered via the IaaS provider's Options Private Financial Cloud platform. Customers trading across markets in Equinix (News - Alert) NY4 and the CME can now make use of this upgrade, says the company.

“Electronic trading firms are looking for their service providers to focus on what they excel at, and embrace the best from the rest. Options provides a world class managed infrastructure experience that enables rapid access to services such as Quincy, who themselves are singularly focused on a best in class suite of latency arbitrage enabling data services. We're pleased to continue making these partner innovations available to our customers,” Ken Barnes, senior vice president of Options, mentioned in a statement.

Quincy Data is a provider of low latency market data services, powered by the McKay Brothers microwave network. The Quincy Extreme Data service sources data from multiple financial exchanges and delivers a normalized feed to colocation centers around the world. To minimize latency, the service provides only key data items for the most liquid instruments.

“Quincy is dedicated to making the fastest market data available to all trading participants. This offering by Options will broaden such access by simplifying adoption for its customers, both large and small,” Jim Considine, Quincy's director of Business Development noted.

Options PIPE Velocity customers can now access market data at roughly 4.1 microseconds rack-to-rack, about 50 percent faster than fibre based direct feeds. PIPE Velocity is a complete electronic trading infrastructure solution, providing ultra-low latency market data, high throughput market connectivity and vendor neutral application hosting as a single, fully managed service for all major markets across North America, Europe and Asia.
