hybris, an SAP company and e-commerce platform provider, will present a study by Forrester (News - Alert) Consulting at the inaugural Game Plan B2B E-Commerce Forum in Chicago. The study is called "e-Commerce Is Fundamentally Changing B2B and presents e-commerce impact on global B2B companies.
According to Forrester, e-commerce is transforming how B2B companies acquire and retain customers. E-commerce is making the B2B sales relationship closer. The study shows that the online channel that is under resourced by many B2B organizations can have huge potential. Businesses that are operated online have done higher business through e-commerce, and show exponential upturn in their results compared to the ones done through traditional channels.
"This is the most comprehensive global study on B2B e-commerce to date," said Brian Walker, senior vice president, strategy, hybris.
"Until now, B2B executives couldn't effectively determine the best course of action for implementing e-commerce solutions because the market was lacking this information. This breakthrough report provides data that B2B executives can use to determine the best course of action in regards to the timing and scope of investment. The time is now to invest in e-commerce capabilities, and the companies that are already doing so are seeing results, revenue," Walker said.
B2B companies now gaining from advanced e-commerce and are beginning to pull away from direct competitors. For B2B distributors, the study shows that lack of implementing e-commerce in a timely manner, is threat to their business.
