American Enterprise Bank Implements EVault Backup, Recovery Solutions

EVault, Inc. recently announced that it has entered into a strategic collaboration with American Enterprise Bank. The cloud-connected backup and recovery solutions from EVault, like EVault SaaS (News - Alert), EVault Express Recovery Appliance and EVault Cloud Disaster Recovery Service or CDR, have now been implemented by American Enterprise Bank in lieu of the existing tape-based backup and recovery system. EVault has also signed a 24-hour service-level agreement or SLA with the Illinois-based bank.

American Enterprise Bank has three branch locations, and required a dependable, scalable and user-friendly solution capable of addressing stringent regulatory and security regulations. The bank also needed a solution that assured of a total and rapid recovery during a disaster.

In a statement, John Hampson, CIO, American Enterprise Bank, said, "Our tape-based system was just not a viable solution any longer: it was outdated, difficult to manage and took valuable IT hours from our staff. We needed a more modern and flexible system that would serve us for the long-term. With EVault we found the reliable data protection and recovery we were looking for. Now I have no worries about data protection."

The old tape-based backup solution could not address the bank’s requirements regarding speed, protection and compliance. Employee efficiency was affected as backups were required to be taken every night. The backup system was also unable to fulfill the financial data and security compliance pre-requisites. The bank migrated to EVault's cloud-connected solutions, with an aim to safeguard the susceptible financial data across its operating systems, applications and 11 servers.

The bank is offered a protected, computerized, centralized backup of desktops, laptops and servers, located at several locations, by EVault SaaS. After carrying out backups every day, data is duplicated and saved in the EVault cloud.

Terry Cunningham, president and general manager, EVault, said, "Financial institutions like American Enterprise Bank hold troves of extremely sensitive client information and operate under rigid compliance regulations. If that data is lost or compromised, and if they're unable to remain compliant, their business is seriously compromised. With EVault SaaS, EVault Express Recovery Appliance and EVault CDR, American Enterprise Bank can confidently assure its data is recoverable, fully compliant and safely backed up both locally and to EVault's failproof Cloud."
