GoBank Embraces Cloud, Mobile Technology to Create a Unique Banking Experience

Green Dot Corporation launched GoBank earlier this year to much interest, which makes perfect sense since GoBank embraces both cloud and mobile technology in a significant and unique. In other words, this new banking service is potentially game changing in today's market.

Put simply, GoBank is a bank accounted designed from the ground up to be used on a mobile device. However, while it is often the case that "mobile" equates to "light," that isn't the case here; GoBank manages to fit a slew of features into the modern mobile device for a level of convenience unmatched in the area of mobile banking currently.

For example, members can personalize GoBank by placing a custom photo on their Visa debit card, while GoBank's Fortune Teller feature will help users to stay on budget by advising on purchases in real time. On the more conventional side, GoBank also boasts a fee-free ATM network 40,000 strong in the U.S., offers quick account balance viewing from the app's login screen and features multiple deposit options.

Since GoBank has been generally available for a couple of weeks now, though, more features are being reported beyond those initially advertised by Green Dot Corporation.

Indeed, The Financial Brand reported that the GoBank app offers control over alerts, allowing users to set custom notifications for various financial occurrences, such as a direct deposit being received or a purchase made above a certain threshold. Best of all, these alerts are presented in a clean, easy-to-use manner.

Android (News - Alert) Police, meanwhile, pointed out recently the advantages of cloud banking. Since every aspect is handled virtually, photographing a check to deposit it isn't just a special feature — it's actually the norm. Of course, that also means that users have complete banking access from their Web browser and mobile device, with changes synced in real-time.

Of course, such a drastic departure from traditional banking can seem unsettling to some at first, but as a brand of Green Dot Bank, all of GoBank's deposits are FDIC-insured, so users can rest assured that their money is safe.

Finally, the aspect of GoBank that will likely grab attention is the fact that users have control over their monthly fees. This is as simple as sliding a bar from zero to nine dollars.
