UK's Sanguine Hospitality Acquired by Interstate Hotels & Resorts



Interstate Hotels & Resorts, a U.S.-based global management company. has entered the U.K. market by acquiring the management arm of Sanguine Hospitality, which encompasses international hospitality companies including InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), Hilton Worldwide, Wyndham Worldwide, and Marco Pierre White Restaurants. The purchase was made in an effort to strengthen its European presence.

The takeover will enable Interstate to manage 10 hotels across the U.K., such as properties under Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn Express, Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton, Hampton by Hilton and Days Inn, with some featuring the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill and Frankie’s New York Italian Bar & Grill restaurants.

“Future projections for this market are robust, and with 14 hotels signed or opened thus far, Interstate is eager to manage this portfolio with high quality developers and solid fundamentals, improving every hotel’s bottom line,” added Leslie Ng, chief investment officer of Interstate Hotels & Resorts. “Sanguine upholds a strong reputation in Europe for outstanding developments, and as we execute our global expansion strategy we anticipate success alongside our new partner, who has quickly established itself as one of Europe’s premiere developers of hotels.”

Under the long-term contract, Interstate’s new U.K. portfolio will allow for the management of an array of U.K.-based full service operations, sales, finance, development, food and beverage and human resources.Simon Matthews-Williams, chairman of Sanguine Hospitality concluded, "From our initial meetings, it was clear that Interstate identified Sanguine as a progressive, successful and ambitious business," he explained.
