Apps Dedicated to BYOD

We now live in an age where all office employees are integrated into a single mobile device – and thanks to the BYOD (bring your own device) trend, outdated systems have been thrown in the dumpsters and are now being replaced by mobile apps.

Actiance has just released Socialite Engage mobile for iPhone (News - Alert), an app that features a popular content library and key social connections dedicated to help financial advisors build their businesses or personal brands while on-the-go.

As mobility usage has increased dramatically on a global basis, businesses are enjoying the financial perks of the BYOD trend as they avoid the costs of purchasing devices for their employees. But by incorporating these trends, companies are not only saving money, but also efficiently learning how to engage with their customers on the most popular platform available on the market.

"Like many financial companies we are seeing a huge uptick in the use of mobile devices by our advisors as well as their use of social networks to connect with customers," says Kelly Hoffman (News - Alert), marketing manager at Janney Montgomery Scott. "And we're concerned about governance. The Socialite Engage Mobile app combines the functionality and security of Socialite with a purpose built mobile app to allow advisors to stay connected with their clients anywhere, anytime."

In a time where most consumers and employees are operating on a mobile device, it makes sense that programs and apps would be created to function as the modern office.

According to research found by ByAllAccounts, 43.9 percent of registered investment advisors use iPhones, which makes the Socialite app a step in the right direction for the financial community in today’s realm of technology.

On the app, users can browse and manage their social accounts, select and share pre-approved material from a content library, have the ability to show high performing content, and can push notifications when social contacts engage with posts.

But as more and more industries begin their business functions onto their mobile devices, issues of security may arise; however, for every new development and issue that manifests, a solution is close behind.

One of the solutions Intercede offers specifically makes it possible to keep e-mails secure. With the MyID identity management platform, global companies and governments can create secure identities for their employees and citizens to use on their mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. With MyID, digital content and assets are accessed through digital identities, delivering trusted security strategies for financial services government, defense and other industries.

The new Socialite app is just the start of industries like finance incorporating the benefits of mobility into their daily operations.
