Initiating exchange with the view of capturing a higher trade flow through a financial extranet, Bolsas y Mercados Espanoles (BME) recently connected with Orange (News - Alert) Business Services – Trading Solutions’ financial extranet TCSnet.
With the objective of providing enhanced co-location services to the members of BME, this leading Spanish stock exchange, based in Madrid, is looking forward to capturing a higher trade flow from the high-frequency stock exchange traders ‘with a rapid time to market through TCSnet, reported an official.
Sébastien Jaouen, head of global sales at Orange Business Services (News - Alert) - Trading Solutions, said at a recent press conference that the company was very excited to serve as an instrumental part of making the Spanish stock exchange one of the most accessible in the industry. He added that they were happy to fulfill the high expectations of MEFF’s customers to ensure that it is able to play an important role in the delivery of its new project.
The co-location service from TCSnet will be made available to the Spanish stock exchange and market from BME’s core data processing center based at Madrid. Real-time market data from BME can also be accessed with this new facility, as well as gaining access to advanced new technology offerings. This is ultimately expected to help BME’s customers by offering improved robustness, enhanced services and overall better security.
Vicente Linares, Orange Business Services - Trading Solutions’ vice president for Spain, Portugal & Latin America, said that latency on BME’s new platform SMART had reduced considerably since connecting to TCSnet, adding that it facilitates trading of all BME products based on an infrastructure that ensures the highest operational standards, including guaranteed security and reliability levels.
Trading Solutions has been connecting discerning international participants to Mercado (News - Alert) Espanol de Futuros Financieros (MEFF) for years. It is a subsidiary of BME, offering central and trading counterparty solutions as well as central counterparty solutions for repos in the Spanish debt market. This new connection is expected to provide BME with a managed service solution, including proactive monitoring. This new switch offers a brilliant 10-50 microseconds of latency, as compared to 100-500 microseconds from other router network providers in the location.
This latest switch is expected to provide better connectivity to BME members, subsequently helping customers enjoy better services, increased robustness and greater security trading with Spanish stock exchange and markets. It will facilitate enhanced trading for all the BME products, ensuring guaranteed security and high reliability with the maximum operational standards.
