Offering solution providers an ideal solution for use in various financial transactions, INSIDE Secure has partnered with TazTag to introduce TazPad V2, a fully featured seven-inch Android (News - Alert) 4.0 (a.k.a. – Ice Cream Sandwich).
It provides features such as multi-core ARM Mali-400 MP graphics accelerator, built-in 3G wireless connectivity, and one USB Host. While offering finance related transactions over the phone, safety is of paramount importance.
The new TazPad tablet integrates the EMVCo-certified secure near field communication (NFC) abilities offered by the INSIDE Secure SecuRead NFC module and Open NFC protocol stack with biometric authentication abilities.
To safely store fingerprint images, The TazPad makes use of the EMVCo-certified secure element of the SecuRead module. For authentication purposes, it can then be compared to those gathered through the built-in fingerprint scanner.
It also provides variety of wireless connectivity technologies to let solution providers offer a variety of commercial, professional and consumer mobile applications.
“The TazPad clearly demonstrates how easily our SecuRead module and open-source Open NFC stack can be used with Android 4.0 to enable manufacturers like TazTag to greatly speed development and time to market while offering robust security capabilities,” said Bastien Latge, vice president mobile solutions for INSIDE Secure. “Our SecuRead module combines our award-winning MicroRead(R) NFC controller with an EAL 5+ and EMVCo certified secure element to enable tablet manufacturers to include all of the security and application functionality required for a range of applications.”
Recently, the company introduced a near field communication (NFC) patent licensing program with France Brevets, the first investment fund dedicated to patent promotion and monetization in Europe. Supporting a wide array of contactless payment, transit, access control, loyalty, ticketing and other services, the program will make the INSIDE Secure NFC patents available to device manufacturers building the next-generation of products.
