SWIFT recently announced the introduction of the Alliance Lite2 - new cloud-based connectivity. The latest release from the company has been designed to enable its customers to connect to the SWIFT network which will allow them to easily share and exchange messages and files with each other. After successful beta testing of the tool with globally located corporation and financial customers, SWIFT's Alliance Lite2 is now commercially available.
According to Bill Wrest, head of business development for non-bank financial institutions at Barclays, Alliance Lite2 is a simpler way for customers to connect with the bank using SWIFT.
Wrest said, “In particular, SWIFT’s service offering around Alliance Lite2 will make on-boarding easier – so our customers can benefit from our services even faster.”
Alliance Lite2 has been designed to provide support for all SWIFT message formats, as well as standards and file types. Additionally, the tool can support both automated and manual exchange of messages and files. The company's clients will now be able to access the wide range of services offered over the SWIFT network, this also includes those services provided by third-parties.
The need for installing or managing elaborate software or hardware on the part of the client is also eliminated as Alliance Lite2 is a cloud-based service. Customers can connect to the network either through the internet or via a virtual private network (VPN).
Leonard Nick, senior manager for treasury operations at Cerner (News
- Alert), said, “Alliance Lite2 will make it easy for us to use SWIFT without the need for additional equipment or a service bureau.”
Furthermore, in a bid to enhance its customer experience with Alliance Lite2, SWIFT has created a full service offering which includes support for SWIFT membership process for new customers. The company also provides setup and 24/7 support for customers while automation assistance will be provided as an optional service.
