Yellowfin Mobile Business Intelligence Platform Scores 17 Points in DAS Mobile BI Market Study

Yellowfin, a Business Intelligence (BI) software provider, announced that it has outscored big players in Dresner Advisory Services’ (DAS) latest Mobile Business Intelligence Market Study.

According to the October 2011 study, Mobile Business Intelligence ranked BI vendor’s mobile capabilities based on the number of platforms supported, the level of platform integration and range of features offered.

Yellowfin’s Mobile BI platform scored 17 points out of 22, awarding the vendor the equal second highest score. The highest score achieved was 18.

“This result confirms that our consumer-oriented and collaborative approach to Mobile BI is a winning strategy,” said Yellowfin CEO, Glen Rabie, in a statement. “The consumerization of BI, combined with an increasingly mobile and technologically savvy workforce, means that more people will need, and should have access to, self-service reporting and analytics. People should be able to access vital corporate data anytime, irrespective of location, device or platform.”

The recognition signals that Yellowfin’s approach to Mobile BI empowers end-users from any business background with fact-based insight. The report says that Mobile BI is likely to revolutionize the way people use and consume business information.

Yellowfin offers customers the ability to receive mobile analytics out-of-the-box, on any device or platform, via native applications for the iPhone, iPad and Android (News - Alert) platforms as well as new HTML5 integration.

“This latest findings report shows strong evidence that Mobile BI is taking hold – broadly,” said Report author, former Gartner (News - Alert) Research Fellow and President and Founder of DAS, Howard Dresner. “We believe that we’re in the midst of a profound shift toward Mobile BI (and mobile computing). We believe this paradigm shift will affect everyone and have as much impact as the Internet did, over time.”Recently, DSCallards, a U.K.-based Business Intelligence provider, partnered with Yellowfin. The partnership will see DSCallards make Yellowfin's world-class Business Intelligence solution available to its broad range of corporate and government clients and develop a large reseller and partner community within the U.K.
