FirstRain, a Business Monitoring Engine that helps marketing, sales, finance and knowledge management professionals track critical developments impacting their business, announced it has procured $6.4 million in new funding led by global technology venture capital firm Oak Investment Partners.
The company plans to use this new capital to help maintain its growth trajectory, grow the sales team and invest in the product development, which will keep FirstRain in the forefront of the B2B digital information industry.
The new funding comes on the heels of the company’s recent growth developments, which included a new product release and signing of major enterprise customers. The company recent also announced major recruitments in both sales and R&D.
Since 2006, FirstRain has raised a total of $41 million in investments. With this investment, Oak Investment Partners becomes the new majority owner.
“This latest funding represents a tremendous vote of confidence by our Board of Directors and investors in the strategy and growth demonstrated by FirstRain during the last year,” said Penny Herscher, CEO and president, FirstRain, in a statement.
According to Ryan Warren, FirstRain’s VP of Marketing, the funding is just another sign to show that FirstRain is emerging as a leader in enterprise information solutions for Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal and Knowledge Management professionals around the world.
FirstRain solutions are being adopted across global sales and marketing teams by some of the largest companies in the world. The company has also seen tremendous response to the July 2011 product release as well as its iPhone (News - Alert) and Android apps.
The new product release focuses on two major areas: role-based workflow improvements and mobile app availability. It delivers a whole new level of simple yet effective intelligence integration into the daily workflow of sales, marketing and finance professionals, company officials said.
