Columbia Credit Union Deploys Mfoundry's SaaS Mobile Banking Platform for Customer Convenience

Popular mobile banking solution provider mFoundry (News - Alert) announced the winning of a new client for its SaaS-based mobile banking platform. In a press release, this fast-growing mobile banking company announced that Vancouver, Washington based Columbia Credit Union deployed mFoundry's SaaS (News - Alert)-based mBanking solution.

A multi-mode mobile banking solution, mFoundry's mBanking solution is going to provide Columbia Credit Union members with mobile Web, mobile apps and text banking options. Columbia CU's mobile banking offering will be available on Apple iPhone, Google Android (News - Alert) and RIM BlackBerry devices, the company said in a press release.

The new offering will provide Columbia CU members with the convenience of accessing their accounts 24/7 through the mobile mode. The functions include checking account balances and transaction history, transferring funds, paying bills and locate branches and ATMs, all from their mobile device.

“When we looked for a mobile banking partner that could help us serve our members better, we wanted a provider that could credibly deliver all three modes – Web, apps and SMS – but also had experience working with our other technology partners. We selected mFoundry for its long history of success working with credit unions and its innovative platform, which will allow Columbia CU to add new technologies in the future,” Assistant Vice President of Columbia Credit Union Jen Shefner explained in a statement.

Shefner pointed out that 6.6 percent of the company’s online banking users have registered within one week of the launch of Columbia CU mobile on June 27, 2011. The adoption is continuously growing, Shefner maintained.

“That's a phenomenal response considering our six month goal of 8%. Since we anticipated a strong demand, it was imperative to quickly provide a top-notch solution. mFoundry helped us implement in approximately four months,” Shefner added.

mFoundry has extensive experience serving credit unions with mobile banking solutions. Currently 425 banks and credit unions nationwide leverage its mobile banking solution to better serve their customers. mFoundry's mBanking product is the leading software-as-a-service (SaaS) based mobile banking solution in the market today, the company claimed in the press release.

In an earlier media release, mFoundry claimed it has earned more than 400 U.S. financial institutions for its flagship mobile banking and payments solution called mBanking. More than 5 million users are interacting with mFoundry mobile banking technology.
