Forrester Consulting, a leading market intelligence and research provider, has recently released the results of two researches: Integrated and Flexible Business Intelligence Solutions Are Vital for Better Business Decisions from October 2010, and BI Maturity in the Enterprise: 2010 Update, conducted on December 23, 2010, which examines the changing paradigms of Business Intelligence. The study was commissioned by the leading Geographic Business Intelligence software developer Alteryx LLC, and it included a look at industries such as retail, real estate, banking and telecommunications, which are moving quickly toward single-vendor BI solutions and pre-packaged content, thereby converging business processes toward a new generation of best-practice decision-making.

The results of the first report have been instrumental in identifying and outlining state-of-the-art  Business Intelligence (BI) best practices, as well as the effect of convergence of end-to-end solutions and business processes in boosting enterprise performance and ROI. BI solutions had been adopted by organizations for standard reporting and advanced analytics such as spatial, predictive, and text analytics. This practice has increased significantly and provides an excellent business opportunity for BI solution and service providers. The second report identified the major trends in agile BI with less centralization, and more pervasive use across wide-ranging vertical markets and industry categories.
