MobileIron to Enhance Avema's Vendor Management System

Avema Corporation, a Telecom Expense Management software and services provider, announced that it signed an agreement with MobileIron, a Mobile Device Management vendor.

The MobileIron Virtual Smartphone Platform gives IT and users real-time intelligence and control over smartphone content, activity, and apps thereby securing the enterprise, reducing wireless cost, and improving mobile user experience.

According to Avema (News - Alert) officials, this partnership is expected to expand the service portfolio around Avema’s flagship Advanced Vendor Management (AVM) system, making it a major resource for wireless software and services.

MobileIron’s solutions offer insight and visibility into data that run on the various mobile devices of employees, enabling security, compliance, information management and cost control.

With smartphones and tablets running Apple’s (News - Alert) iOS and Google’s Android gaining more popularity among enterprise environments Avema is expecting greater growth in demand for mobile management and security technology as value-added services and has hence partnered with MobileIron.

Roger Yang, founder and CEO of Avema, said in a press release, “It is no secret that iPhones, iPads, Android (News - Alert) devices, and others are proliferating across the enterprise. But the fact is that enterprises do not have great visibility or uniform policies and procedures, and that creates risk from both a security, legal and compliance perspective. A management platform that fills these gaps is a necessity and we partnered with MobileIron to ensure our customers have these capabilities at their disposal.”

Avema sources also confirmed that it will be integrating AVM with MobileIron’s platform which will enable AVM users to pull data from MobileIron in real time, providing more depth of information.

Bob Tinker, CEO of MobileIron, said, “We’re seeing a rapid increase in demand for MobileIron from businesses throughout the world. Enterprise mobility is exploding and the demand for our technology is growing exponentially. Avema has a great track record and expertise with business customers and we look forward to working with the Avema team.”

Avema as a Telecom Expense Management solution provider offers software and managed services to cut costs and control processes for big organizations. Its list of clients includes Suncor, Royal Bank of Canada, Spectra Energy and Allergan. Clients are able to eliminate manual administrative chores and can hence focus on higher value strategic work.

Recently MobileIron announced release 4.0 of its Virtual Smartphone Platform (VSP). MobileIron 4.0 features MobileIron’s App Management and Security using which enterprises can centralize the discovery, deployment and security of internally- and externally-developed apps for all iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and Symbian (News - Alert) devices in the company.
