Speakerbus, which sells advanced voice products for the financial and command and control markets, hasannounced their completion of Cisco (News
- Alert) Interoperability Verification Testing (IVT), for Cisco Unified Communications Manager version 8.0 and the i turret.
The i turret is integrated as a native SIP endpoint on the CUCM that offers line sharing and access to CUCM features.
Interoperability Verification Testing? Glad you asked. It certifies the functionality available with the i turret integration to Cisco Unified Communications (News - Alert) Manager Version 8.0, according to Speakerbus officials, and “ensures a consistent experience for clients deploying a Speakerbus voice product powered by Cisco infrastructure.”
Since Speakerbus obtained certification with version 7, development of the i turret (iD808 release 1.2) has continued unabated, company officials say, by offering “enhancements to their brokerage speaker functionality, improvements to the global management application, while expanding access to CUCM features such as Cisco's Meet-me conferencing.”
In June TMC’s (News - Alert) Raja Chaudhary wrote that Speakerbus announced that right within the first year of the deployment, the company shipped its enhanced global trading system known as “i turret” to Speakerbus’ customers in such industries as investment banking, hedge fund management and spread betting to energy and commodity trading.
For introducing new enhancements to i turret, the company worked in close co-ordination with both Avaya and Cisco’s ‘Session Initiation Protocol’ (News
- Alert) or ‘SIP’ communication architectures, to ensure that the solution continues delivering advanced turret functionality to the users, coupled with a lower cost of ownership.
Using a host IP-PBX (News - Alert), i turret offers reduced cost and backroom infrastructure in comparison to the traditional voice trading platforms, and provides the enterprises with a distributed product that processes voice traffic and user input at the desk endpoint and cuts down the capacity loading on the IP-PBX, resulting in increased resilience, Chaudhary wrote.
