Rohm and Haas Selects Enterprise Capture Solution by Kofax

Kofax plc, a provider of document driven business process automation solutions, revealed that Rohm and Haas, a manufacturer of chemical products and materials has relied upon its Kofax software. According to the initial contract worth over $400,000, the company will deploy this solution as its enterprise capture platform.

Rohm and Hass receives around one million pages of invoices and related financial documents annually at 50 sites and leveraging the Kofax Capture, Kofax VirtualReScan (VRS) and Kofax Monitor solutions, it will be able to scan the documents in a streamlined manner. After scanning, the images will be indexed at a shared services center and routed to a repository for easy access.

Using the Kofax solution, Roham and Hass will be able to automate and standardize document capture across its enterprise, which will provide it with a robust platform for disaster recovery and high availability. The company will realize multiple benefits through the solution, such as reduction in manual operations and costs and enhancement in data quality.

“By automating and standardizing critical business processes with Kofax software, manufacturing companies can quickly become leaner and more agile,” commented Alan Kerr, executive vice president of Field Operations at Kofax, in a press release. “A unified, streamlined approach to digitizing paper content reduces costs, errors and exposure to risk, and quickly provides a measurable ROI.”

Kofax Capture is a solution that helps the companies in scanning documents and forms to create digital images. Further, it allows them to extract index data for retrieval purposes and deliver the images and associated data to various repositories and applications. It can be helpful for enterprises in a number of ways, as it reduces retrieval costs and enhances regulatory and compliance efforts. Kofax VRS is an image enhancement and perfection software solution provided by Kofax. The solution speeds up the process of manual document preparation and also improves the quality of scanned images. It offers better manual scanning productivity and also makes the document capture processes more streamlined.

In November 2010, Kofax plc announced it will provide an enterprise capture solution to Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) a provider of development financing in Latin America and the Caribbean. Under the contract, IDB will implement its Kofax Capture and Kofax Transformation Modules to process over three million customer agreements, records, correspondence and other financial documents it receives annually.
