Keynote Systems, OpTier Announce Alignment of Their Solutions

Keynote Systems and OpTier announced the alignment of their solutions to provide companies with both synthetic and real business transaction management from the end user across the entire data center.

OpTier (News - Alert) is a technology provider and pioneer of business transaction management (BTM), while Keynote is a company offering Internet and mobile cloud monitoring. The prime initiatives of the alliance include technical collaboration and coordinated marketing efforts that emphasize each company’s best-in-class technologies.

The joint offering enables proactive, 24/7 visibility into the performance of critical Web applications from multiple geographic locations, using a combination of real user traffic and synthetic transaction monitoring.

It’s seen that traditional application performance management solutions focus on the performance of each infrastructure silo. However, OpTier's BTM suite, featuring CoreFirst and Experience Manager products, track the transactions, end-to-end.

Company officials said that this offers application owners the consolidated view needed to pinpoint issues, as well as proactively manage the performance of their applications before users are affected.

Thanks to the partnership between Keynote and OpTier partnership, businesses can now improve online customer satisfaction and user productivity with the option of using either real and/or synthetic traffic end-to-end.

Companies’ officials said that for businesses that depend on online transactions being completed, this means they can use synthetic data to determine the data center's impact of peak traffic spikes.

Additionally, they can also monitor critical production applications 24/7 and use the real traffic to monitor and manage the application traffic not exposed to Keynote's synthetic monitoring.

In a press release, Vik Chaudhary, vice president of product management and corporate development at Keynote, said that OpTier’s business-centric view of application performance delivers the capability of understanding the applications' performance from the perspective of the user's transactional interaction from the internet to inside the data center.

“The Keynote/OpTier integration highlights performance problems at the Web front-end, application and database layers, a unique end-to-end service assurance capability unmatched in the industry,” Chaudhary said.

The partnership gives a complete solution that includes real and synthetic user experience and in-depth insight into the application tiers, including diagnostics capabilities such as visibility into J2EE calling methods, SQL statements and mainframe CICS transactions.

“This partnership offers customers a complete solution for application performance management," said Motti Tal, executive vice president of marketing, product and corporate development at OpTier.

Tal said that the combination of real and synthetic transaction monitoring with the ability to track them across applications, data centers and clouds enables businesses to optimize the end user's experience and reduce cost of operations.

“This task becomes increasingly critical as applications are 'mobilized' and their infrastructure moves to virtual and cloud environments, making the Keynote/OpTier alliance even more valuable to businesses,” Tal said.

Last month, Keynote Systems (News - Alert) announced Keynote Mobile Web Perspective 5.0.
