ADP, a provider of HR, payroll and benefits administration services, announced the launch of its first mobile payroll app on the App Store. The RUN Powered by ADP is available for iPhone (News - Alert), iPad and iPod touch and allows business owners to take the ease and functionality of RUN wherever they go.

Introduced in 2008, RUN powered by ADP is an online payroll management system specifically designed for professionals providing payroll services to multiple clients

RUN has been continually enhanced with direct client feedback, bringing it to the point “where business owners can now run payroll in just three seconds,” according to company officials.

RUN was also hailed by PC Magazine as "exceedingly simple to understand and use," they added.

According to Gary Butler, ADP president and CEO, businesses are likely to spend 35 percent of their IT budgets on mobile within the next two years. “The fact is, the definition of 'the office' is changing,” Butler added in a press release. “With smarter devices and faster networks on our side, ADP continues to invest heavily in bringing our trusted solutions to clients wherever they choose to work.”

ADP Research Institute recently surveyed a group of small business owners nationwide and came out with interesting results. According to the survey, small businesses are leading the way toward increased mobility, with almost 90 percent of the surveyed indicating that they spend at least some time outside of the office for business, averaging nine hours a week or 23 percent of a 40-hour work week.

Undoubtedly the time “on the go” is increasing, as indicated by 30 percent of the survey participants. “In today's environment, small business owners need to move quickly to manage their cash commitments and balance their obligations to employees and vendors,” said Regina Lee, president of ADP's Small Business Services and Major Account Services, in a statement. “Sometimes even a laptop isn't convenient, so RUN Powered by ADP mobile payroll is the ideal solution for their busy lives.”

Currently there are more than 1,000 small business-oriented mobile apps available for the iPhone alone which enable the clients to monitor inventory, ship orders, and handle accounting on their mobile devices.

With RUN Powered by ADP, clients are delighted to be able to manage payroll remotely with ADP's secure systems, Lee added.

ADP’s new mobile payroll's secure system allows clients to enter and review payroll information for employees and contractors and pay via checks or direct deposits. It also allows them to calculate earnings and deductions as well as federal, state and local taxes/

Using RUN Powered by ADP, they can review hours and earnings to confirm accuracy before payroll is processed; review payroll liability and cash required, and confirm funds to be withdrawn; and review reports from the current and previous periods in real time.

The RUN Powered by ADP mobile payroll App is available for free from the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, the company said.
