Open Innovation Prize Awarded to Jaspersoft for Business Intelligence Suite

Jaspersoft's business intelligence suite deployed in more than 100 countries was a hit at the Open World forum Demo Cup, and has been awarded a 2010 Open Innovation Award for being a top presenter at the forum. The award was presented in Paris.

The Open World Forum Demo Cup is a competition that attracts the biggest players in open source. The Demo Cup winners chosen had "projects and solutions most likely to have a significant impact on society and on the marketplace.”

Investors, entrepreneurs, consultants and open source managers from leading IT services companies, recognized as experts in open source and innovation, constituted the Demo Cup Jury.

Jaspersoft competed against 12 other open source projects. It had eight minutes in which it had to demonstrate to the jury and audience the superiority of its business intelligence software vis-a-vis the others.

Tom Cahill, vice president of Jaspersoft, expressed the company's delight on receiving the award and thanked the Open World Forum and the members of the jury for the honor.

Cahill added that it underscored the company's ability to innovate in the open source space and adapt to evolving market needs. Jaspersoft's products were constantly being enhanced thanks to its 160,000-strong community of developers, and the prize bore testimony to the entire Jaspersoft ecosystem.
