Redknee, a provider of billing and charging software and solutions for communications service providers,
announced that it has been named a finalist at this year’ s Billing & OSS World Excellence Awards.

The award winner will be announced at Billing and & OSS World Conference and Expo, being held in Washington from 9-11 June 2010.
On June 9th at the Expo, Redknee also presented strategies for operators to drive data revenue in next generation networks. The presentation, ‘Driving Revenue in Next Gen Networks’ was conducted by Humera Malik, Redknee’s director of marketing.
In this presentation Malik discussed how a subscriber centric service model eliminates any opportunity for ‘bill shock’ to occur by empowering the subscriber to have full control over the services they want, when they want them, and how they want to pay for these services.
“Being named a finalist at the Billing & OSS World Excellence Awards further validates how we are successfully enabling service providers to do this,” Malik commented.
A research from Pyramid Research finds that mobile data will account for 29 percent of global mobile service revenue by 2012, up from 19 percent in 2007, representing $300 billion in revenue for operators across the globe.
During the past 24 months global data consumption has exploded and Redknee believes that by imploring real-time, two-way communication between operators and their customers can provide the key for operators to seize on this opportunity.
Two-way, real-time communication provides transparent pricing plans and charges, visibility into the tariff usage, delivery of real-time promotions, rewards and incentives and flexibility to the tariff plans or payment modes. It enables operators to meet regulatory requirements associated with data roaming.
In addition, leveraging analytics, customer profiles and real-time usage data, service providers can offer a personalized service to subscribers by delivering the ‘right app at the right time.’ Operators will know what their customers want and be able to deliver it.
Redknee’s revenue generating solutions provide advanced converged billing, rating, charging and policy for voice, messaging and new generation data services to over 70 network operators in over 50 countries.
Back in May, Redknee announced it has signed a contract with Telfort, a subsidiary of KPN, to extend its use of Redknee’s data monetization platform, NGRC. Read the full report here.
