Peruvian-American Bondholders for Justice (PABJ) Announces New Website to Track Peruvian Bond Default

WASHINGTON, Nov. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Peruvian-American Bondholders for Justice (PABJ) announced today the launch of a new, more informative and easily navigable website (http://www.perubonds.org/ ) to document the legal, financial and human injustices cause by the Government of Peru's longstanding default on its sovereign land bonds.

The new website includes a history of the land bond issue and Peru's default, an archive of key documents (including several judgments from Peru's highest courts ordering the government to pay the bonds), examples of Peruvian government actions to avoid paying the bonds and hide the default from the intenational financial community, news clips and more.

The website also includes a submission form for whistleblowers and others to anonymously report allegations of official corruption. It is time that officials in Peru, which is plagued by corruption (see OECD Integrity Review of Peru, p. 23) and weak rule of law, became more transparent and accountable.

PABJ hopes you find the website a useful tool for tracking developments in the land bond issue. PABJ will be adding videos and regular updates, so please visit the site often.
