Texas State Board of Education Adopts CEV Multimedia Instructional Materials


LUBBOCK, Texas, Dec. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- To better reflect new educational standards in Texas and offer students comprehensive training resources in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, CEV Multimedia announced today the Texas State Board of Education has approved the iCEV online learning platform for 87 CTE courses. With the approval by the State Board of Education, materials will be available and implemented in classrooms at the beginning of the 2017-18 school year.

As part of the Proclamation 2017 – Instructional Materials Review and Adoption, school districts in Texas can now choose to integrate any of the approved 87 iCEV courses into their curriculum. Proclamation 2017 focuses on adopting instructional materials for all CTE subject areas to coincide with the implementation of the new Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for CTE courses.

Texas school districts adopting iCEV materials receive pre-packaged, TEKS-aligned courses and learning materials, automatic testing and grading systems and interactive lessons that help guide students through their chosen career paths.

The approved 87 courses cover a variety of fields, including health science, architecture, construction, transportation, manufacturing, career exploration, agricultural science, law, public safety, business, marketing, information technology and family and consumer sciences. Students also have the opportunity to earn industry-backed certifications correlated to approved courses to enhance their career training in topics like food safety and science, business office technology, plant science, professional communications, veterinary medical applications and more.
