Merz North America Announces the Appointment of Philippe Adams as Vice President, Managed MarketsMerz North America (U.S. affiliate of the global Merz Pharma Group), today announced the appointment of Philippe Adams as Vice President, Managed Markets. In this role, Adams will primarily be responsible for developing Merz's North American market access and reimbursement strategy to enhance patient access to Merz prescription products. Adams will join Merz's North America Leadership Team and will report directly to Bill Humphries, President and CEO of Merz North America. "Philippe has deep knowledge and experience across numerous categories in the areas of payer contract negotiation, reimbursement, market access, government accounts and patient assistance programs," said Bill Humphries, President and CEO of Merz North America. "We are confident that Philippe's collaborative leadership and broad perspective will enable him to make immediate contributions to our strategic goals for this fiscal year and beyond." Prior to joining Merz, Adams held the position of Vice President, Managed Markets at Valeant Pharaceuticals, leading the U.S. payer market access and reimbursement strategies across all business units, including Neurology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology and Gastroenterology. He also held key roles of increasing responsibility at Salix Pharmaceuticals and Alcon Laboratories. Adams brings more than 20 years of experience in the U.S. pharmaceutical and medical device industries to this new role. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University (News - Alert) and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago. He will be based in Raleigh, North Carolina at Merz's North American headquarters.
