Ricoh (News - Alert) Europe (Netherlands) B.V. today announced that Ricoh Electronic Devices Company, Ltd. (REDC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Ricoh Company, Ltd. in Japan, will open a new Semiconductor Sales and Support office in Düsseldorf, Germany, in October to expand its automotive and industrial business.

It is the intention of REDC to focus on the growth of its automotive and industrial business, following Ricoh Group's 18th Mid Term Plan. As REDC remains committed to maintaining and supporting its fundamental distributor channels, the main focus is to develop, manufacture and sell semiconductor products to electronics manufacturers worldwide.

Customers in Germany will have increased access to REDC's broad product portfolio that includes general, industrial and automotive products; devices purely for consumer use, for industrial use with an extended high temperature range and for automotive use with AEC-Q100 qualification. The industrial and automotive class products have assed a screening in an extended operating temperature environment with very strict reliability test procedures.
