Edifecs Partners with National Health IT Week, Highlights Interoperability

Edifecs, a global health information technology solutions company, has partnered with National Health IT Week to elevate the important role health information technology plays in improving healthcare delivery in the U.S. with an emphasis on interoperability.

As an active participant in National Health IT Week, Edifecs will launch a six-part blog series on interoperability, how it has impacted other industries, changes needed in the industry to reinforce interoperability standards and predictions on what this could mean for healthcare.

"We hope Edifecs' partnership with National Health IT Week continues to bring attention to the critical issues facing the healthcare industry," said Sunny Singh, CEO of Edifecs. "Interoperability is driving data accessibility and quality of transactions for value-based care. We are excited to share insight from our renowned thought leaders with the health IT community."

Edifecs also participated at HL7's Structured Data Capture FHIR Connectathon focused on interoperability. At the event, Edifecs successfully demonstrated patient access to eligibility inquiries via a mobile device. Through two use-cases, Edifecs showcased how health plans have the ability to transform FHIR JSON requests to HIPAA 270 and send back a FHIR response via a mobile page that shows the corresponding coverage per each requested procedure. Edifecs will continue to work on Structure Data Capture to deliver interoperability that reduces the administrative costs of healthcare while improving patient engagement and timeliness of data.
