NERA Economic Consulting Appoints Sandra Ringelstetter Ennis as Chief Operating Officer


NERA Economic Consulting, announced today that Senior Vice President Sandra Ringelstetter Ennis will succeed Dr. Phillip Beutel as NERA's Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective August 10, 2015, due to his upcoming retirement from the firm.

As COO, Ms. Ringelstetter Ennis will have overall responsibility for the company's growing global operations, including business development, growth strategies, and the company's recently expanded European and Asia Pacific offices. She will focus on continuing to build a strong organization and increasing efficiency across all aspects of operations. Ms. Ringelstetter Ennis is based in NERA's Chicago office and will report directly to NERA President Dr. Lawrence Wu. In addition, she will be a member of the firm's Management Committee and Board of Directors.

"Sandy brings impressive management capabilities and leadership experience to her role as a COO," said Dr. Wu. "She understands NERA's culture, commitment to quality, and clients. Ms. Ringelstetter Ennis has been involved in the energy industry for more than 25 years as a consultant and is a recognized expert in New Source (News - Alert) Review (NSR) enforcement matters on behalf of utility clients. She specializes in wholesale electricity markets, asset valuation, and the modeling of electric systems. Before joining NERA in 2003, Ms. Ringelstetter Ennis was the COO at e-Acumen, a software solutions and professional services company that served energy companies around the country.

Dr. Beutel has been with NERA since 1990. In addition to his role as COO, Dr. Beutel was the Chair of NERA's Intellectual Property Practice and served on the firm's Board of Directors and Management Committee.
