SilverVue Acquires ProMD and Expands its Portfolio of Hospital Readmissions Reduction Technologies

SANDY, Utah, July 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SilverVue®, a rapidly-growing provider of transitional care and telehealth technologies, recently announced its acquisition of ProMD, Inc.

This strategic acquisition builds on the Company's ability to prevent patient readmissions and facilitate digital hospital discharge processes by bringing MobiMD, a mobile health technology platform created by ProMD, into the SilverVue product line.

ProMD was founded by James Barrett and Dr. Ram Nirula, Chief of Trauma at University of Utah Health Care, as a spin-out technology company through the Technology & Venture Commercialization office at the University of Utah.

Matt Evans, CEO of ProMD, led the successful development of MobiMD to facilitate communications between hospitals and their post-discharge patient populations. He now brings his industry leadership to SilverVue as Chief Strategy Officer, to continue working to improve patient outcomes and reduce readmissions with technological applications. 

Dr. Nirula, a renowned trauma surgeon, is the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Directr and the Co-Director Surgical ICU Trauma Medical Director at University of Utah Hospital, and a member of the faculty at University of Utah Medical School. He will now also serve as SilverVue's Chief Medical Officer.

Will West, CEO of SilverVue, has a successful entrepreneurial history as founder of multiple Utah technology companies, including Control4, which he led to its public offering in 2013, and iBAHN, the worldwide leader in broadband services for business travelers.
