Ping Identity Enables Single-Sign On for Public Agencies via Connect.Gov

Ping Identity®, the leader of Identity Defined Security, today announced that it successfully demonstrated its ability to integrate PingFederate with Connect.Gov and the United States Postal Service (USPS (News - Alert)) to provide secure single-sign on for citizens to government agencies. This solution is available directly to Ping Identity customers or through its partnerships with system integrators and federal contractors like Protiviti, and technology partners like SecureKey. SecureKey recently announced that it renewed its contract for 2015 with the USPS to enable its briidge.net™ Exchange cloud platform to continue serving as the core infrastructure for Connect.Gov. PingFederate now integrates with SecureKey's briidge.net Exchange platform to make it easier for federal agency online applications to integrate with the Connect.Gov service.

Connect.Gov creates a secure, privacy-enhancing service that conveniently connects people to government services and applications online using an approved digital credential they may already have and trust. Traditionally people had to create agency specific logins and passwords to access government information online. Connect.Gov ensures that individuals can use a single name and password for each government agency they use online. For more information on the program, please visit Connect.Gov.

Ping Identity is the leading choice for Identity Access Management among government agencies in the United States. Ping Identity customers across the Department of Defense, civilian agencies and the intelligence community use Ping Identity's solutions to deliver single sign on to their employees and contractors. With this announcement, Ping customers in the public sector that have already deployed PingFederate can now easily configure their systems to link into Connect.Gov, giving government agencies an opportunity to provide secure citizen facing applications that ensure a good user experience. The arrangement supports a standards-based approach to quickly deliver integration and also eliminates the need to build a front end application to provide citizen services online because Connect.Gov takes care of it.

"Citizen facing applications are a growing trend that we are seeing with our government customers," said Andre Durand, CEO of Ping Identity. "They reduce the cost of transactions for public agencies and deliver on the vision that the US government has for a digital government that provides better and more secure online access to its services."
