Media Alert - The Canadian Nuclear Society will hold its 35th annual conference at the Hilton Saint John and Saint John Trade and Convention Centre, Sunday to Wednesday, May 31 - June 3, 2015.


SAINT JOHN, May 29, 2015 /CNW/ - "Nuclear Innovation Through Collaboration" is the theme for this year's gathering of nuclear industry experts from across Canada and around the world, co-hosted by NB Power.

This theme reflects the team effort within the Canadian nuclear science and technology community which will ensure safe and cost-effective operation, and develop innovative solutions to meet society's needs in the 21st century. 

Topics for discussion at this conference will include: the status of nuclear science and technology in Canada and around the world, recent developments at Canadian utilities, licensing issues for new nuclear technology development, plans for plant refurbishment, and nuclear waste management.  Special sessions on Canada's plan for used fuel management will be held, as well as special events and display booths featuring suppliers and other members of the Canadian nuclear industry.

For business, energy, and science reporters this conference offers an insight into major nuclear projects and an opportunity to meet leaders in the nuclear sector. A few of the many conference highlights are listed below (more details at www.cns-snc.ca).
