Analysis of End Users% Perspective on the Global Wireless Communication Test Equipment Market : Innovative Solutions are Needed to Tackle Challenges with Proliferation of Small Cells and LTE Network InfrastructureNEW YORK, May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Key Findings •The findings represent the opinions of end users of wireless testing equipment. Demographics •The exhibits above illustrate the percentage split between the type of end users who participated in the survey, as well as their job function within their organization. •Half of the respondents consisted of network operators and network equipment manufacturers. The rest of the respondents consisted of contractors and installers, mobile device manufacturers, mobile virtual network operators, and service providers. •The primary job function of the respondents within their organizations was related to product development, corporate management, and business development. Market Definitions The objective of this survey was to ascertain important network deployments as well as other technological trends that are of key interest among end users. Wireless communications that served as a key focal point for business development among end users included the following network deployments: •Second Generation (2G): A telecommunication standard in which voice and data can be transferred simultaneously. •2.5 G: A more enhanced form of the 2G network, with enhanced download speeds. •Third Generation (3G): A more secure telecommunications network offering significantly higher download speeds, due to its enhanced network infrastructure. 3G can support a variety of applications, such as mobile Internet, video conferencing, and mobile television. •Fourth Generation-Long-Term Evolution (4G LTE): A form of wireless communication for rapid data transfers. This superseded the 3G technology deployment. •Long-Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A): A more intelligent wireless network, with faster download speeds and significantly lower latency. The network is more versatile than LTE and is easily adaptable to the environment surrounding it. •Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE): An all IP-based network technology which transfers voice and data as a single stream of packet information on the network. •Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA): An entirely different telecommunications infrastructure in which data from disparate sources are multiplexed onto a single transmission line. •Wideband-Code Division Multiple Access (W-CDMA): An air interface technology, used to transfer information between portable equipment at a much higher rate of speed. •High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA): A combination of uplink (HSUPA) and downlink (HSDPA) technologies. It is an enhanced version of W-CDMA.
