Prudential honored as a 'Best for Vets Employer' by Military Times for six consecutive years

Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU) has been recognized by Military Times magazine as a "Best for Vets Employer" for its commitment to training and hiring veterans and active duty military reservists. This is the sixth consecutive year Prudential has earned a spot on the Military Times list.

"I'm delighted we have once again been recognized for our efforts to help military veterans, active service members and military spouses find meaningful employment in the private sector after their service and between deployments," said Barbara Koster, senior vice president and chief information officer at Prudential. Koster also is the executive sponsor of the company's Office of Veterans Initiatives. "I'm proud of the work we do at Prudential. We are lead sponsor of the VETalent work/study program that educates, trains and provides jobs to veterans and military spouses. In addition, veteran recruiting is an important element of Prudential's overall Diversity and Inclusion program," Koster said.

To be considered a Best for Vets Employer, Military Times invited major companies across the country to complete a survey on their recruiting and hiring policies, social recognition for veterans, and pay and benefits for reservists. Prudential was ranked #27 among 74 employers honored.

Jim Viris, vice president, Recruiting at Prudential, said, "Veteran recruitment is a key component of the company's overall talent acquisition strategy. We build strong relationships with veteran organizations, attend recruiting events that target military veterans, post job openings and advertise on military-specific job boards, publications and websites." Viris added that VETNET, a business resource group at Prudential for employees with military backgrounds or who are interested in veterans' issues, provides professional development opportuities, mentoring and networking programs.

Prudential's Office of Veterans Initiatives provides job training for sustainable careers in information technology and business operations for service members and their families; professional development services for employees with military backgrounds and those interested in issues related to veterans; thought leadership that encourages corporate peers to adopt programs to help veterans build successful post-military careers; financial and volunteer service support of nonprofit organizations that help military service members and their families who need assistance transitioning back to civilian life; and financial literacy information to help ensure the financial health and wholeness of post-military services members and their families.

"We've built an infrastructure that provides veterans and military spouses access to quality education, job training, and employment opportunities so that they can better leverage the skills and talent they bring to the workforce," said Charles Sevola, vice president and head of Prudential's Veterans Initiatives.
