Community Health Systems, Inc. Announces Divestiture of Ownership Interest in Bennettsville and Cheraw, South Carolina Hospitals

Community Health Systems, Inc. (NYSE: CYH) announced today that subsidiaries of the Company have completed the sale of their ownership interest in the entities that operate two South Carolina hospitals, Chesterfield General Hospital in Cheraw and Marlboro Park Hospital in Bennettsville, and related outpatient services to M/C Healthcare LLC. The effective date of the transaction is April 1, 2015.

The Company does not expect the transaction to have a meaningful impact on financial operations. With the divestiture of Chesterfield General and Marlboro Park, subsidiaries of the Company continue to operate six hospitals in South Carolina.
